From invitation to friendship
A child sends a request using a friend code.
Invitation sent. Both families still need to allow the connection.
Two families. One friendship.
Each family’s permission is required; a family may allow automatic approval in its settings.
One family approved. Waiting for the other family.
Connection active
The connection becomes active only when both sides allow it. A parent can withdraw permission.
Both families approved. Friendship is active and messaging is available.
Invitation rejected. No friendship is created.
From upload to sharing
An uploaded image stays unavailable for sharing while it is checked.
Private until checks and required permissions are complete
AI safety check
Content checks assess the image, visible text and people. Unsafe content is blocked; uncertain results need further review.
Four possible image-check outcomes
Safety tools support people; they do not replace them. Automated checks can make mistakes and cannot guarantee that every risk is detected.
Blocked for safety. A parent cannot override this decision.
Approved for use. The child decides whether to share.
Waiting for parental approval. Sharing is unavailable.
Review is incomplete. The image stays unavailable for sharing.
Approval is not publication. Sharing remains the child’s choice.
Suitable images with people require parental approval. Approval makes an image available to use; the child still chooses whether to share it.
Blocked for safety. A parent cannot override this decision.
From a task to a new skill
Finish with a summary and reflect on how to use the skill in everyday situations, with friends or in group work. Status moves from assigned to started to completed.
Family goals should support personal growth. Rewards are optional, and completing an activity alone does not prove mastery.
Less screen time. More time together.
Viafactor will suggest family activities and events that encourage life beyond the screen. The aim is to help families discover something meaningful to do together, then put the device away.
